Over the summer, I had the privilege of collaborating with my friend and co-worker Beth in her venture of floral design. You guys, let me just say, she is TALENTED. And not only is she talented, but she is so knowledgeable about flowers. It was an absolutely joy to photograph her work, which was beautiful and full of color. If only I had this talent, too! But since I don't, I'm glad I have a friend like Beth who I can go to for ideas and help. Enjoy this wonderful array of color in nature!
And my favorites from the session . . . doesn't it look like a Victorian tea party? Being a history buff, I feel like I travel back in time whenever I see these images.
And a few more shots to showcase Beth's eye for picking out gorgeous flowers . . .
Autumn has arrived in north Texas and I sure hope we actually get to enjoy this season. Fall is my favorite, with the leaves changing and weather cooling down. I get to wear scarves and sweaters and drink hot cocoa and cider. I just love it!
While I sit here and enjoy this beautiful day, here's a photo session from several weeks ago. James and Jen are friends of mine from long, long time ago. Actually, I've known them since high school! Jen and I went to church together and James and I went to the same high school. They are a great family and it was an honor to photograph them and their handsome boys.
It's been a while, friends, hasn't it? In the midst of my full-time job plus time with my precious family, I'm also training for my first marathon so my time has been filled with busy-ness! Thankfully I was finally able to edit these pictures and I couldn't wait to share them with you. The day we did this session was the day after a lot of rain so we started indoors. But, the ground wasn't too wet after all, so I was able to get some shots outside. Anyways, P is the dad and a former student at the college I work for and it was a privilege to photograph his beautiful family.
Sweet E is a student I know from the university I work at. She also attends the same church as my husband and I, and I count her as a friend. E is helping out at a local conference for Christian women in college and needed some headshots done for the conference website. I knew that E would be fun and easy to photograph, as she is genuine, light-hearted, and joyful. These pictures prove it!
Back in May, I had the privilege of being the second shooter for my friend Brandon (of Brandon Jones Photography), as he took the lead on photographing this beautiful outdoor wedding. I think highly of Brandon and his work, so I was really excited to assist him (thank you, friend!). Here's the link to Brandon's images, which are fantastic.
Now, most of you know what Pinterest is. I won't say much else about that addicting website other than this wedding looked like it walked out of a Pinterest board. In other words, simply beautiful. The bride and her family put so much thought in all the details. You could tell everything was heartfelt.
Admittedly, I was a bit nervous as the back-up photographer at this wedding, after several years' hiatus, but thankfully I was able to get some good images. Enjoy!
It's mid-September and of course, Texas is still pretty darn hot. Thankfully we've gotten a reprieve from the 100+ degree weather today (cool breeze! cooler temps!). Unfortunately the cooler weather came a bit too late for this sweet family and their photo shoot at a park in town. Like a previous client, H is a fellow mom who is in the same mom's group I'm a part of on Facebook. I've met her two other times and I was so looking forward to taking her family's pictures. I could tell that she and her husband love to have fun, especially after H suggested a great idea of swinging their kiddo in the air! Anyways, it was so humid and hot at the park, but both H and her husband and two kiddos were doing different poses. Thank you, H, and your family for allowing me this opportunity!
Several weeks ago, I had the privilege of taking pictures of a sweet family. I know the mom, B, from a Facebook mom's group she and I are a part of. The session at the park was actually the first time we ever met! All I have to say is, B and her husband have such love between them, and you can see it in their interaction with each other and with their two young kids. Thanks so much, you guys, for letting me take your photos!
And here's something really cool - B's husband proposed to her at this park, so it was great to photograph their family in such a significant location.
